IGS Website Changes 1 Year ago
Hi there,

I make changes to the IGS website from time to time. I thought it would help if I gave notice of some of the these changes, which usually take the form of additions to the IGS website.

Please watch this thread for updates!

Cheers,
Ben

IGS Website Changes for 1/17/2009 1 Year ago
Today I added a link to the General Semantics Introduction Listserv, moderated by Carmen Clark, to the Links section of the IGS website.

Find the link under the General Semantics Discussion Groups heading near the bottom of Links > Websites about GS.

You can go directly to that page on the IGS website by clicking below:

www.generalsemantics.org/index.php/links/sites-about-general-semantics.html

Cheers,
Ben

Recently, we added a page listing the Board of Trustees, Honorary Trustees, and the Administration for the Institute of General Semantics. To access this information, visit About Us > The Institute > Board & Administration.

Also, I created some shorter URLs for some destinations on the website. Below I list the shorter URLs we have active.

This shorter URLs will direct you to their respective locations, requiring you to type less and publish cleaner-looking URLs.

IGS Website Changes for 4/6/2009 10 Months, 1 Week ago
Yesterday, in addition to changing the IGS Store's shipping calculations to by-weight, I added a couple of "lost" items to the online inventory.

An Advanced Course in Squirrelly Semantics: A Coloring Book for Some Adults by D. David Bourland, Jr., and Elizabeth J. Bourland

Capitalizing on Career Chaos by Helen Harkness

Coming soon we will have an item to my knowledge never before offered in the IGS Store--a composition Lisa J. Roberts with forward by D. David Bourland, Jr., related to E-Prime and his SEOS model. I think we might consider this work "long lost" as Judy only recently uncovered it at Read House.

Indeed, I have added Lisa J. Roberts's book E-Prime, SEOS, and the General Semantics Paradigm to the IGS Store!

It is available in Books: General, or by clicking here:

IGS Website (Potential!) Change 9 Months ago
I just learned that we may have a new forum software in the near future. Currently the General Semantics Discussion Forums software called Fireboard. When I get a chance to upgrade to the new software known as Kunena, I hope to.

I expect to do a backup of the GSDF before upgrading, but in case you have some prized writing here, you may want to manually backup (i.e., cut and paste your prized writings) should something go wrong.

I have no firm timeline for the upgrade, but it probably will happen no sooner than May 23rd, 2009. If you have questions or concerns, please post them to the forum called "Questions about the General Semantics Discussions Forums," which you can find here.

Cheers,

Upgrading Fireboard to Kunema 6 Months ago
Hello!

I anticipate upgrading Fireboard to new discussion forum software called Kunema today, 8/15/09. You may see differences in appearance, operation, etc., should I successfully complete the upgrade.

I may need to take the GSDF offline for a bit. In which case, stay tuned.

It seems I have successfully and easily upgraded Fireboard to Kunema.

You will notice some subtle changes, and you might even see some dramatic changes. If you have any trouble with the new software, please use the Questions about the General Semantics Discussions Forums forum and post there. If for some reason you have an inability to post, email the webmaster using the box on the right.

P.S. In order to see the Kunema changes, you may need to clear your cache. You may especially need to do this if you access the GSDF using the web address www.generalsemantics.org/forums else you may see the old version of the GSDF.
